Stage 1 : How to choose self-control

The first building block teaches your puppy how to choose self control on his own! All we have to do is control access to the treat. Your pup learns to control himself to earn that treat.

In the last section of this video, I also show you how we progress to birds.

By the end, you'll learn how to teach your pup the "Mine" & "Take it" lesson, which can easily translate to "Fetch" and "Give"

Later this week, we'll show how this step leads to steadiness in the field.
I love this learning method because you build great understanding for the dog. When the dog learns how her actions can win access to the reward, she'll be driven to repeat that action. The connection gets cemented in her brain.

Backing up and holding steady = treat. Diving in to demand the treat = closed hand and no treat. When the pup figures this out on her own, it’s much easier to add distance and distraction to the tasks.
We can grow this simple building block into some big concepts for the field.
Video 2 gets delivered to your inbox in about 3 days. Reggie and I will demo some cool ways to use the food bowl to get amazing steadiness.
